Project "Moroccan Modern" presented by   ANA Interiors

This 565 sqft 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom micro kasbah is large on style. Mediterranean teal, amber, brown and cream play integral parts in opening this space up to it’s full potential. The Master bedroom features a Robert Allen custom designed headboard styled after the vintage chair painted teal in the desk/tv niche across from it. Turkish lamps hang from the bulkhead and offer ambient and accent lighting. Tribal textures are woven throughout the condo, from the artwork on the wall to the reversible rug on the floor. A juju feather headdress acts as a focal point that is seen the moment the front door is open, and the dark wall behind it draws the eye deep into the space.... This Calgary, Alberta condo was decorated by Ana Cummings of ANA Interiors for 15k.

Project "Lumber Barons House” presented by  Renelle Design

A beautiful historical house with lots of charm and character that belonged to Howard Dunbar, a prolific lumber baron in Northern Ontario, came on the market last December. In January of 2015, I had the privilege to create the designs and to lead the team for the restoration of the house that would turn into a beautiful little Country Inn. The project was completed in September, but the owners were able to rent parts of the Inn as of August, much to the enjoyment of the patrons.

Project "Fleet Street condo, Toronto" presented by Elegant Living Spaces

The challenge was to marry contemporary with traditional while keeping the magnificent views in a small space. The customers are a couple of Indian expats  that have traveled around the world and settled in Toronto. They bought a condo overlooking the CN Tower and the Toronto Islands. Their challenge was to choose various pieces of furniture that would combine well together as well as with their magnificent views. We ended up mixing up various pieces from fantastic furniture designers from Italy, Japan and Scandinavia for a light contemporary look. They also wanted to introduce some old traditional Indian paintings that meant a lot for them. The artist was an aunt of the husband . She was a very poor woman in India who used to paint to survive and she financed the husband University studies with her paintings which is why they mean a lot to them. The paintings were in very bad condition as they had travelled around the world without having been maintained. I had to get them restored and framed in a way that had to fit with their new interior. The result came out fantastic ! They were so happy with the result they even offered me one of the painting ... which I refused as it was really part of their home story.

Honorary mention “Beach Modern” project by ANA Interiors

This 874 sqft 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo was decorated in a contemporary coastal theme in Calgary, Alberta.  The aqua tweed sofa, nesting wood slice coffee tables and a pair of vintage side chairs appeal to a scandinavian cottage aesthetic. The Magnussen media chest, painted in a multi colour mini chevron pattern also has an antique appearance and adds to the time worn casual airiness. A woven basket-turned-side table was crafted by the designer by adding a piece of glass to the turned-over lid, so it now becomes a functional piece of storage. The master bedroom houses an old pine bed that the designer had chalk painted in old white which contrasts so well with the charcoal botanical print wallpaper behind it. The artwork above the bed was found at an auction and rounds out the beachy vibe of this restful room. The total budget Ana Cummings used to decorate this space was 20k.
