ETHICAL STANDARDS OF IDRC

     *1060733 Ontario Ltd was registered as a not-for-profit corporation in 1994 by a dedicated group of National Suppliers to the Interior Decorating Industry who have voting rights to manage and direct the operations of the association through appointed individuals for day-to-day activities. The mission of IDRC is to promote its members'  professionalism and to aid in their success with Quality products, Trade education and Publicity such as Media, Trade and Home shows, and group benefits for the awareness of Interior Decor Standards by professionally trained and competent personnel. When necessary,  they will champion the unanimous opinions of their members where conflict occurs within certain governmental jurisdictions deemed detrimental to their operations.

      "Decor Associates"membership within Interior Decor Resources Canada was created to embody all persons and companies engaged in the Interior Decor Industry with a goal to offer products and services with ethical standards of behaviour, begetting respect, responsibility, integrity and professionalism. Members are expected to conduct themselves and their businesses in a legal, ethical and moral manner that is expected of a respected professional.

MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATION as a "Decor Associate"requires applicants to meet certain criteria within the following categories:

 a/ IDRC/CERTIFIED INTERIOR DECORATOR and/or DESIGNER (which shall include Architects and Specifiers) must have completed a recognised Interior Decor/Design course of study and obtained either a Diploma or Decor Certificate from such OR have been self employed and/or actively engaged in a reputable company within the Interior Decorating Industry  for a minimum period of 2 years. Either copies of business registration or letter of employer reference should accompany membership application.

Applicants who are already members of another recognised Industry Association or Group with similar qualification standards will also be considered for "Decor Associate" membership. with the following caveat" that when working at or representing within "Decor Associate" activities they do not divulge specific confidential information provided to them or identify themselves other than as a Decor Associate or their own individual business''

A Decor Associate member may be nominated and elected to a honorary office on the Board of Directors of IDRC provided they are not an active member of another trade association within the Interior Decor Industry.

b/ IDRC TRADE PROFESSIONALS being those persons or companies that supply services to the Interior Decor industry, which shall include decor retailers, trades persons, sales representatives and workrooms. Other persons who can specifically show their commitment to furthering the advancement and well being of the Interior Decorating Profession will be considered for membership on a one on one basis by IDRC management. 

c/ INTERN STUDENT MEMBERSHIP is open to any student engaged in a course of Interior Decorating/Design study at a special price until the time they graduate as a ":QUALIFIED" Interior Decorator or Designer or other designation that is related to the Interior Decorating Industry. Intern Student members may participate in IDRC events but will not be entitled to wholesale pricing from IDRC supplier members until the time they graduate as certified by their course of study as Interior Decorators etc.

d/ IDRC STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP AWARD RECIPIENTS.  Certain colleges across Canada are selected annually to receive $2,000.00 awards to their top achieving student as selected by their own college criteria and management.  $1,250.00 lst prize and $750.00 runner up, plus FREE IDRC Membership as per "e".

 e/ ALL GRADUATING STUDENTS upon presenting proof of their graduation will receive a FREE lst year personalized membership to IDRC entitling them to benefits of IDRC afforded to all other members.  In addition to this FIRST FREE YEAR MEMBERSHIP each graduate will receive a 2nd YEAR at Half price provided they pay this half price amount upon receiving their first FREE year membership to minimise our administration costs 

d/IDRC MEMBERSHIPS ARE ALL GOVERNED BY THE ETHICAL STANDARDS AS EXPLAINED ABOVE. MEMBERSHIP IN IDRC DOES NOT IMPLY RESPONSIBILITY OF IDRC ON THE PRACTICES AND BEHAVIOR OF IT'S MEMBERS OR ANY REPRESENTATIONS MADE ON IDRC BEHALF THAT ARE NOT PREVIOUSLY SANCTIONED.

 

"DECOR ASSOCIATES" MEMBERSHIP RATES:

 a/ IDRC/CERTIFIED INTERIOR DECORATOR and/or DESIGNER

Annual rate for each IDRC Fiscal Year of July 1st to June 31st is $200.00 with part year enrolment prorated.

 b/ IDRC TRADE PROFESSIONALS

Annual rate for each IDRC Fiscal Year of July 1st to June 31st is $250.00 with part year enrolment prorated.

 c/ INTERN STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

Annual rate for each IDRC Fiscal Year of July 1st to June 30th is $50.00 not prorated.

d./ALL GRADUATE STUDENTS

Annual rate for each IDRC Fiscal Year of July 1st to June 30th is FREE FOR FIRST YEAR OR PART FROM GRADUATION AND SECOND YEAR IS HALF PRICE provided half price second year is paid upon receipt of first free year, $100 for 2 years from the Graduation certificate date.

 

The Ethical standards of IDRC shall prevail upon all types of IDRC memberships.
